What Works? #5: Introduction to Artist Grants w/ Stephanie Barnhard

How do artists sustain their practices? This workshop, facilitated by Stephanie Barnhard, will offer insight into what artist grants are, what they can be used for, where to find them, and how to apply.

Stephanie Barnhard is a community arts administrator and arts promoter. She is a director on the board of the Arts Council of Windsor & Region (ACWR), and since 2019, has served as Board President of Windsor Endowment for the Arts (WEA). During her time at WEA, she has overseen the distribution of $87,000 in art grants to 33 artists and creatives in Windsor-Essex. For her efforts, she was recognized as a “Windsor Community Champion” by the Mayor of Windsor in 2022. She holds a B.A. in Film Studies from the University of Western Ontario, and a Teaching English as a Second Language Certificate from the University of Saskatchewan.


This event is part of our monthly What Works? series, an ongoing practical skills workshop program for youth working toward a career in arts administration. What Works? is open to all Windsor-Essex area youth, ages 15–24, and is part of the Community Leadership for Aspiring Arts Professionals (CLAAP) program. Registration required. Spaces are limited.
