  • Artcite Inc 109 University Avenue West Windsor, ON, N9A 5P4 Canada (map)

Art in the Community. This workshop, led by Kristina Bradt and Stephen Nilsson, will offer an introduction to community arts. Kristina and Stephen will provide insight into the ways we can create opportunities for connection and collaboration through community-based projects.

Kristina Bradt (she/her) is a multidisciplinary visual artist from Windsor, Ontario. Since earning her BFA from University of Windsor (2017), she has continued to work as a gallery preparator for Art Windsor-Essex, and completed her role as Programming Coordinator for Artcite Inc. in 2023. Kristina has exhibited work throughout Southwestern Ontario with public commissions from Windsor International Film Festival, City of Windsor, City of Burlington, City of Kitchener-Waterloo, Art Windsor-Essex, Collective Arts Brewing, Creative Hub 1352, Life After Fifty and the Gordie Howe Bridge Association. In 2020, Kristina received the Lois Smedick Emerging Artist Award through Windsor Endowment for the Arts for her work combining installation and sound art with brother Andrew Bradt. As a community arts advocate, Kristina served as President of the Vanguard Youth Arts Collective from 2020-2022, and joined a committee for the growing arts festival based in Newfoundland, HOLD FAST. She is now the curator of her traveling art project, The Tiny Art Vending Machine.

Stephen Nilsson (he/him) is the senior Preparator at Art Windsor-Essex and has been a professional artist for the last 35 years. Practiced in several different mediums from jewellery to printmaking.
