join our board
Artcite is Windsor’s only non-profit, artist-run centre for contemporary art, with 43 years of history presenting interdisciplinary work in Windsor-Essex and the Detroit area.
We are dedicated to expanding the visibility of contemporary art in our region, supporting artists at all stages of their careers, and paying professional artist fees at nationally established rates. While our focus is visual art, our programming also includes talks, residencies, performances, film screenings, workshops, and other initiatives that foster dialogue and cultural exchange.
Joining our Board of Directors is one of the most meaningful ways to support this mandate. Board members provide leadership, oversight, and hands-on volunteer support to ensure Artcite remains a vital space for artists and audiences. If you share a passion for contemporary art and community engagement, we invite you to bring your time, skills, and perspective to this work.
Artcite strives to reflect the demographic diversity of Windsor, and we welcome applications from individuals across diverse professional backgrounds, artistic disciplines, cultural communities, Indigenous heritages, orientations, genders, ages, and abilities.
Who We’re Looking For
Practicing artists.
Individuals with skills in fundraising, finance, law, HR, community organizing, or nonprofit governance.
Mature, reliable people who can lead or actively contribute to committees.
People committed to supporting Artcite’s mandate as it exists, not reshaping the organization for personal or political purposes.
If you do not have time to volunteer meaningfully or prefer a hands-off position, this is not the right fit.
