Welcome, Josinah! ✨🛹

Josinah Makotoko and Ricardo Rodriguez will be activating the Artcite Inc. gallery as our 2024 Waawiiyaatanong BIPOC Artists in Residence, from January 10–March 9.

Their collaborative, community-focused, skateboarding-based art and education project, Creative Output Theory (COT), officially opens to the public on February 10. Event schedules and drop-in hours will be posted weekly from February 11–March 9.

Josinah Makotoko (she/her) is a second generation, self-taught, African-Canadian artist who creates experimental art from an intersectional framework. She graduated from the faculty of Sociology at the University of Windsor and her artwork reflects her passions in social theory/justice, skateboarding, feminism, and breaking barriers of perception and stigma. As an out-of-the-box thinker, Josinah brings a non-traditional artistic prowess to her creations and a fresh perspective that propels her expansive drive.
