In The Shadows

In the Shadows is a collaborative exchange conceived by members of the Artcite Inc. and Hamilton Artists Inc. programming committees as a special exhibition initiative to compare and contrast current contemporary visual arts practices in Hamilton and Windsor while identifying our commonalities-i.e., cultural practice in both cities happens largely “in the shadows” of the predominant industrial-based economy; both Windsor and Hamilton exist in (perhaps uneasy) close proximity to much larger urban centres (Detroit and Toronto).

An exhibition publication will be produced providing a curatorial framework and commissioned essays on works exhibited at both centres.
