March 11–April 9, 2005

Two-person exhibition with Virginia Mark.

Toni Hafkenscheid’s photographs are slightly disorienting, shallow depth-of-field ‘bizarre and fake’ picture-postcard scenery of British Columbia which negotiates the territory between documentary reality and the fiction of an idealized 1950s American Dream.

Toni Hafkenscheid presented a slide lecture as part of the Visitor’s in the Arts (VITA) lecture series at Artcite Inc. on Thursday, March 10 at 7:00 pm. VITA is generously funded by the participating organizations and the Canada Council for the Arts. Toni Hafkenscheid is represented by Robert Birch Gallery (Toronto, ON).
